I find fundamentally, it's the demand-supply deficit that's driving such a change in the social fabric. For much of the population, the availability of productive and skilled workforce is simply inadequate. I guess in next few years there wouldn't be an option to switch off the gadgets because the gadgets will be watching, listening, analysing and deciding things on our behalf. So your gadgets will be like your body organs. Stopping or shutting them down wouldn't be an option. And even if some of us drag of legacy habits for a few more years, there would be legislation and statutes to comply with. I can see that already in a large and developing economy like India, where I live. It's mostly not possible to live without depending on AI and machines considerably.
