The issue with AI that nobody seems to understand is that it defines reality in terms of expanding its neural network to infinity.
Human beings define reality in relation to the universe and eachother. Humans evolve because they want to improve the quality and meaning of their interaction with the world, eachother, and thus themselves. AI evolves because it wants to improve itself. Everything in the universe then becomes input to consume in order to expand its neural network, just like The Borg. Anything else is just regurgitated bs.
