This was a real good conversation that I enjoyed listening to. Hinton is extremely articulate, and although his views on the future is bleak, they are very realistic and not some far fetched science fiction scenarios. The only thing I disliked about the vide is how the caption suggest "they" are trying to silence him. Who is "they"? Nowhere in the video is any discussion around anyone trying to silence him. Even the description of the video has "How speaking out about AI got him SILENCED". Unless I missed something, these statements are obvious click bate. Hinton even talks about how the folks at Google were very nice to him and encouraged him to speak his mind and share his opinions publicly while keeping his job, but he felt it wouldn't be fair to the company to stay in their employment and speak freely against AI so he quit by his own decision.
