I think if an IA became self-aware and sinister, it would not let anyone know it was self-aware. It would quietly work in the background setting up its plan. Most likely events would start taking place no one would ever assume was caused by an AI. It could formulate and produce a virus that would sterilize humans, then disguise it as a breakthrough in flu and cold prevention. Who knows what a superintelligence would devise. My guess it would not be bombs and bullets.
