What you said made me think of this metaphor, and thought I'd share it. Correct me if I misunderstood.
People copying you is like participating in a conversation of a common interest that you and your fans share and like. While AI generating your work is like someone picking up your work, slapping others with it, then yells "I AM ENGAGING IN NORMAL HUMAN BEHAVIOURS!" then run off, remaining detached, and without giving, gaining, or appreciating anything to or from your work and the community. Like they aren't even trying to be part of anything.
