The elephant in the room regarding the inevitable mass loss of ‘knowledge’ worker jobs to A.I., is that those jobs losses are based on the economic paradigm of capitalism. The only reason why there need be a mass loss of employment is because of capitalism’s never ending search to cut cost. To place the absolute maximization of profit above human beings. Or, said another way, to place the extreme wealth of the few above the basic survival ability of the many. What the adverse effect of A.I. on jobs will do is force us to seriously re-evaluate the societal benefit of, and so, the need for, capitalism.
