This is such a misleading narrative AI is replacing very very few jobs right now. We have an environment our economy was unprepared for: inflation and high interest rates. Whether up or down the chain when cheap money stops flowing in, that weakens sales, when sales stop flowing - cuts are assessed and made months in advance. The layoffs we’re seeing now are from weak sales pipelines and poor market activity from almost a year ago. I work with a lot of business and believe me they would all love to do huge headcount adjustments if they could have robots do all their work… they’re not and they can’t (yet) the jobs are flowing to India or Mexico, other low cost centers. But this is not AI just a bad economy.
