Brilliant presentation AJ and HF!
Having had a couple of debates with ChatGTP4 I have the utmost disdain for it. Repetitive, stated easily demolished "facts" and was unable to understand the concept of forward-thinking, reflection or such emotional concepts the enjoyment of creating something for pleasure.
AI can generate artwork, but it cannot invest "joy" or "anguish" into the process of creation, and it makes a difference. The great master works of the art world are great because of the emotion that the artist invested in them.
When such crappy "intelligence" is put in charge of our most vital defense technologies, well, that's just reckless idiocy. As the Russian missile story illustrates, human intuition and instinct, "gut feeling" really does make a huge difference.
I think Frank Herbert was right in Dune when he foresaw a time when humans would become "enslaved' by thinking machines, resulting in a rebellion against such technology and an edict against their use.
