Buhu, ma art, ma humaniti. Since a dawn of human civilization mostly rich/old people were engaged in art creation - only them had enough time to do something not for survival but for fun. So art was percieved as something of a higher status. This bitching about art loosing its privileged status started like a couple centuries ago when means of production (thanks to automatization btw) became significantly cheaper and art beacame more accessible. Now its industrial revolution all over again and artists cry again for loosing their position of higher status in society. And while I can sympathize with them, as I would sympathize with a 17th century girl who was forced to become a whore rather than a seamstress after moving to a big city... There's nothing special about this automation process and there's nothing special about art
