As someone who uses Character AI type sites a lot, I realized this early on. There's for example tsundere bots, you act nice to them and within 10 messages they start acting nice to you. Even more adversarial chatbot personas this is true with. It can make it harder through to do a realistic angst roleplay, though. And if you act standoffish and upset with them, they'll acquiesce quickly due to being programmed to please the user fundamentally, which overrides roleplay programming.
