It disturbing she is regurgitating origin myths over and over again as facts when they were always just myths. The open source is there to leverage the community, to catch and surpass Google, which they did. That is when you close source it. The whole Elon and openai origin story is marketing nonsense, but she takes the story as fact and several time he has to question her about it. Listening to propaganda and then repeating it and writing a book doesn't make you a journalist. She doesn't seem to understand basics, like the world's largest data collection platforms are making chat bots. This data collection is for money and power. But she thinks the ai race and the snake oil term agi is about religion not power. When they were talking about religion it was not about beliefs, it was about power and control. All of the big tech ai companies are data collection companies and use there platforms for changing people opinion at scale. Like 1984. Or it could have been Elon scared ai was going to hurt people. Yeah it could have been that. Or just maybe that's a story that she fell for.
