And don't fall for the "first and last mile" jobs being safe. There's a video on YT showing an autonomous Volvo trash truck, and that video is 8 years old. Think where the industry will be 8 years from now. Any driving that involves a regular route can be automated fairly easily, whether it's a trash truck, a freight truck, a school bus, a city transit bus, or UPS / FedEx / USPS. It's not just truck drivers that will lose their jobs, it's truck drivers that will lose theri jobs first.
