I am soooo so sick of Generative AI...and I work in the AI field (mainly with old-school, non-GenAI type of models). I've been working as a Data Scientist for about 5 years and it's basically my career, but I am so tired of everything becoming LLM-powered or some tool that generates images or music or literature. Even if we ignore the fact that these GenAI models are still not polished enough to actually be on par with art created by humans, the fact that so many people think that it's helpful in any way is mind-boggling. At no point in time have I seen an image generated by an AI and thought "wow! this is so cool!". What these AI "artists" are doing is basically raising the bar for art created by actual humans, making getting into the art field even more difficult, since now everyone has to question every photo, video or song and wonder if it is actually real. Personally, I hope (and I also kind of guess) that in 1-2 years the internet will get so full of computer-generated "art" that it will poison any datasets that companies might use for training other models down the line and this applies to all types of GenAI models.
