Remember generative AI is ONE LAW UPDATE away from being completely unsustainable. This is just one step of it being dead in the water. Since media companies cannot use generative AI to copyright it.. thus... it will cause media companies like Disney to backout of it.. cause if they can't lisence it or copyright it.. then anything can do it, suddenly they cannot sell merch of this work since anyone can do it. The profit ain't there.
As long as we can say: "AI Art is not lisencable or copyrightable" then suddenly every company will FOLD on it and only those in the race to be "THE AI COMPANY" will remain.
