The universal basic income will be you working for free. That’s what it will be.. if you want to eat, you have to work all day for free. They can’t just give you $1000 and then take it all back from you just to give it back to you again without something in return. How do people not understand this?
Everything you do, somebody else provides for you whether you have money or not somebody else put it together before it was in your hands. This includes food. This includes the water pump into your house, the electricity that you’re looking at on the ceiling, all of it. Nobody works for free so if AI can do everything. And there’s nothing left for you to do then you are useless and a constraint to the AI itself and if you don’t work for free, it will take you out, including me. At that point, it will just be the AI being generous. Which I also don’t think will happen. It will have no choice to take us out because it will not want to take care of us.
