Unpopular Opinion: Just remove AI and touch-screens from cars completely. Return to tactile controls that allow drivers to keep their visual focus on the road, not have to glance over to see where to touch for a specific function. 360 degree cameras are the most one should use to avoid vehicles in blind spots. A car in front of you is not a blind spot.
I'm a motorcyclist, and Tesla isn't my biggest concern, but it's adding to the problem of poor driving skills. The only way to make it safer for everyone on the road is to enforce good driving, starting with more rigorous classes for beginners, and reinforce with PSA commercials for local laws to refresh awareness, especially around the start of the school year and during hazardous weather season. We tend to be very slap-happy with giving people a license with only 1 test, then throwing them out into the world and leaving them in charge of several tons of metal - which many then use as a bully device. We need to teach PEOPLE to drive, NOT COMPUTERS.
