disabled artist here- i find the idea of AI making 'art' more accessible incredibly insulting. many artists already ARE disabled, or queer, or queer and disabled. many CAREER artists are disabled. art is one of the few jobs many of us can manage to make work. AI directly targets us, steals our work and steals one of the only ways we can make a living from us. AI directly affects and worsens the lives of an already vulnerable group. even THEN, i do not think most disabled people would feel a kind of true satisfaction in generating 'images'. art, whether you are able bodied or not, is deeply personal, time consuming, and difficult to create. the satisfaction is saying you were able to make it. in fact i have created a workflow for myself that makes art MORE accessible for me! (using CSP functions and a 8bitdo controller + joytokey). part of making my art was developing my own work flow to make finishing art for myself more accessible. and part of the reason why i started making art again was because of the community of people around me who feel joy when they see the things i make. my friends and community are an integral part of my art, and that is something AI can never replicate.
