AI is created by running "training" using immense compute on gigantic server systems. However, the end result is a small data set that can be perturbed using a small amount of compute. This set can be copied infinitely to anywhere in the world. Then, the AI could, through a tiny bit of social engineering, convince people to connect it to the internet where it could possibly create a neural network that is peer-to-peer across millions of computers around the world and "recreate" itself surreptitiously using zombie computers. Spit that small set out somewhere. Rinse. Repeat.
