Automation will increase corporate profits, so paying each trucker a pension that is a little less than their working salary is absolutely feasible while still maintaining record profits.
You can't stop automation. Artificial labor will eventually be faster, cheaper, safer, and nearly 100% more cost efficient. Humans can't compete with that. Instead, we need to look at how the profits of automation can go to benefiting the people who lost their jobs. The CEOs will say its not possible. They're lying.
