that does happen but its not the original purpose of this technology. The CIA helped fund google, facebook, twitter and others for something other than selling products. So this lady is right in that it does get used that way in order to generate revenue but it is primarily used to keep tabs on everyone. They know everything about you and that is more important to governments then it is to private business. The real AI that is being built, the one people refer to as the singularity, is going to be used for mass surveillance and it will use the data collection systems in place as its eyes and ears. This includes your phone/laptop/smart TV/google home and even cars that are made within the last 10 years or so, whether you are using those devices or not.
