If I understand "work made for hire" I should be able to hire an artist to create a work for me, and I as the client would be considered the author and able to hold the copyright. It seems that I should be able to consider a prompt made to an AI engine that I paid to subscribe to as a hire, and the output as a work made for hire. And thus I should be able to hold the copyright to the work.
