The difference is that digital art is a medium that still requires some degree of skill. I've been drawing and painting using traditional mediums for most of my life, and when I try digital art, a lot of the skills just don't translate. You actually DO have to learn something every time you try a new medium. Digital art isn't necessary easier, it's just different. It's like being an oil painter trying charcoal for the first time. It's hard, because it's a different skill. Just because it appears eaiser to someone who's never tried it doesn't mean that that's the case.
On the other hand, AI "art" requires absolutely no skill or effort. There is no expression or dedication involved. You tell a software what image to show you, and then it does what you told it to. It's not the same.
