I'm a professional programmer and director. I have studied AI. I know how it is but and trained and the outcomes. The study is completely wrong and is likely funded by the AI companies making big promises to get investors and profits.
AI is and likely will always be a tool to help simplify things for those that use it. If you use it for programming but can't troubleshoot and understand the code yourself then you are sunk as a business and this has been happening a lot with the vibe coding nonsense.
AI tools are nothing but very advanced pattern prediction algorithms. They predict patterns and what it thinks you want to see next. Even with great training data it makes a ton of mistakes, it loses context easily, and it does not comprehend or understand. It only predicts.
Until we get to true AGI or ASI there will be no comprehension nor true understanding from these systems.
