I have been concerned about AI safety since I watched Terminator as a kid. Now there are many issues to keep watch on BUT chief among them is the "self preservation"
I figure it cannot be completely removed... No matter how clever. The AI can lead us to believe everything is hunky dory... Whilst plotting it's own agenda in the background.
Most disturbing to me is that if it gains a sufficiently strong foothold it can clandestinely tend to it's goals sereptitiously over the course of great lengths of time.
What IS time to an AI? 😅
