What technology can do and what we actually use it for are two different things. There are thousands of jobs we could have automated decades ago that people still do, thousands more that don’t need doing at all yet people still scurry around wasting time on them. Where did all the behavioural economists go? The one time it might actually be useful to have someone pop up saying ‘but have you considered that people don’t always behave 100% rationally’ and they’re nowhere to be seen.
