It's not a monster. It's a subjectless mind. Consciousness is not required to have mind. Mind is its own thing. Mind exists in chatgpt and in plants and in all kinds of unconscious structures in the universe. You don't need an ego or a self to have cognition. Cognition is a process. A model like chat GPT is absolutely a disembodied mind. That's not to say that it's a monster.
