Moving at the current rate commercial art will be dead in 5 years.
There will still be artists and people who love art, but corporate uses for art have little reason to not use AI art other than potential consumer backlash. It is cheaper, much easier to produce, and as sanitized as the corporation wants it to be.
I think artists should be concerned, not because they can’t “stand up” to AI, but because many opportunities for consistent income will go to AI.
Recently there’s proof of concept for AI commercials. While nobody would want full AI movies, AI commercials are an easier sell. Commercials suck. AI sucks. Suck squared
