The tool argument is BS.
Yeah, graphic designers and animators do use computers nowadays. But, they still have to do the drawings themselves, using their hands to create the shapes and decide the individual colours and the animators still have to “animate” their drawings themselves.
How are those comparable to the simple act of writing prompts?
I won’t dismiss the imagination of AI “artists”. But, all they do is write prompts, sit down and relax while they wait for the computers do the jobs for them.
They have never worked hard to turn their imagination into something tangible.
