It is evident that even now, industry holds more power than the governments do. It appears that our law makers are running along behind trying to make laws to control and monitor the actions of technology, but are so inadequate that they have become almost irrelevant. An example of this is the inability of government to ascertain long-term effects of products, and testing is not addressing this. Food is especially vulnerable to mistakes. Medicine is another one. Computer technology, A.I. and robotics are moving faster in designs and abilities by the minute. Our governmental body is not informed enough to approve of these inventions, but they do anyway. It was our downfall in the distant past more than once, and I expect it will be again.
