The idea people need to work to feel fulfilled is such an interesting crutch people have lied to themselves about. The expanse of what a fulfilling life can be opens up dramatically when you get to decide what that means for yourself.
Also presumably a hyper intelligent AI would realize this outcome long before it multiple generations have passed. If you ask AI if children should stop going to school because AI is going to take all the jobs even today's version will say that's a bad idea.
