Accountability...and Creativity.
The reason good software engineers are good, is because they come up with unique solutions to unique problems.
AI can't do that. It can repeat solutions to repeated problems, and that is still powerful, but that's also never been the important part of software dev anyway. That's why open-source libraries exist, that's why SaaS companies exist.
