I swapped my major from computer science to finance a semester after chatgpt started trending. I saw the writing on the wall early, but everyone criticized me regardless.
The barrier for entry, especially for programming roles, was going to increase dramatically - and it's already happening.
Im not saying people will get replaced, but salaries will decrease and barriers for entry will increase. Give it a decade and watch how volatile certain careers (like CS) become for anyone that isn't holding a Ph.D.
