During the industrial revolution some jobs have been lost. It will happen also now. But overtime more and more work was required so that a "middle class" was built out. There is no proof that this time it would be different because of AI. I cannot see network effects caused by genAI which have led during the early days of the internet to some monopolies (like Google, Amazon as a market place, Facebook). genAI seems not to have a moat. There is a lot of competition out there ... you can even run models locally on a GPU. It is more like fiber optics cables ... an industry which did not generate many billionaires ...
