I just tried to order Chinese food earlier. The restaurant had an AI agent taking my order initially, and it was painfully obvious, especially when it mispronounced my street address (it pronounced ST as the letters, not the word it's abbreviating, among other things).
After about 1:30 struggling with it, I got transferred to one of the Actual Humans at the restaurant. Admittedly I think I inconvenienced that human more than I would've liked due to insufficient planning of my group order (Then again the AI probably wouldn't have even given me the choice that prompted the inconvenience!), but at least they understood what I meant without any "prompt engineering".
