I think his view of consciousness is utter nonsense! We are living through a digital/AI revolution, and people within it see it very narrowly through that focus. Digital computers just simulate intelligence, but we are a very long way from understanding biology fully. I think consciousness is a fundamental part of the universe which we will hopefully start to understand at some point in the future.
