Hopefully we never use an emotionless algorithm to decide the fate of a human being. No matter how much we want only the _objective facts_ to decide individual cases, we as a species, rightly or wrongly ultimately appeal to our emotions when faced with such things. So we want a like minded person to defend, argue for, and to decide our fate, which is why we have "jurors of our peers" and _human_ judges.
