There's a broad misunderstanding floating around is that the models are just LLMs that are merely predicting the next token. The models have long evolved past that. Today's models are multimodal with photos, videos, audio. This matters because the world model that is being learned is vastly better than one with just text alone. Videos contain spatiotemporal data that allows the model to understand causality and physics. Studies already shown that the neural networks have neurons that create multimodal representations. For example, there are neurons that represent all forms of an object, text and visual form. AI is continuously being improved as more modalities are trained into the model to have a broader and more complete world model.
