Bro do you realise majority of the Software job is feature development and doesn't involve causal reasoning(for debugging)? Current state of LLMs(not some future fear) can reliably replace most of the feature development (again non causal reasoning work). At my work place my team is running at a 4month left shift on the committed features and this is growing. The productivity gain is absolutely unfathomable (All this is in 3 weeks after Opus4.6). Although most crash reports and bug reports still require senior engineers to debug as we keep running into causality issues with LLMs.
