From someone on the coding side that used to design and write algorithmic software, I suspect the vast majority (like 95%) of people have no idea the power about to be released to AI once parallel processing (primarily quantum computing) is wide spread. Take chatGPT4 and Bing . . . Once quantum computing is feasible, multiple orders of magnitude improvement will be possible on a weekly scale. Try protecting your bank account, car software, cell phone, medical records, encrypted communications with a software that can improve itself with the power of all software engineers combined working 2-3 years, but in a day or two. On the flip side, imagine running millions or billions of drug isomers/permutations for a cell receptor target and having the answer in a few minutes or hours. We're about to make the jump from fire to nuclear bomb all over again.
