As a PhD candidate, I have used ChatGPT to spit out citations for websites in APA 7th edition.
I have used it to do complex internet searches that I can then follow up on and confirm or disregard.
I have also used it to analyze large blocks of very same-same texts, like job postings or descriptions to find a list of common elements without having to sift that manually. This is something that is already done wit existing qualitative analysis software.
