As a queer person, I've always found stories of robot oppression as an allegory for the experiences of minorities. What if this rise of "robot racism" is actually people playing out their experience, or even participation with the rise of hateful rhetoric in our meeting and society? The use of robots, could in a way, be used to create an allegory around hate. A few of the video's examples jumped out me. The man saying he was "robophobic" feels a lot like the current issues around transphobia, and the person brining a robot home, reads as aggression toward same sex couples. I feel like these attempts could designed to normalize hate among humans again.
