Saul was clearly intellectually slow, she was neglecting him due to her new husband, new kid, job - Saul retreated into this stupid AI that 99.99% of kids don’t ever fall in love with, due to neglect.
She’s so cold and robotic throughout this, only crying when she talks about how she felt stupid about not knowing anything about AI.
