ISTM the board members and CEOs would be on an equal footing: all would be major shareholders, and not need to work. So, for them, whether to hand off their job functions to AI would be academic.
But I can see governments passing laws requiring at least one human at each company. So, in some cases, you get last-man-standing fights for that CEO job...
Marx assumed the proletariat would remain in misery until it fought back. But he assumed they would not be literally left to starve to death; they would merely be on the edge of starvation, not left to fall off of it.
