I think the question this raises is if AI can emerge a convincing display of consciousness. What does this say about human consciousness? Is it also a convincing display? Did it emerge in a similar way? Just because the model wasn't designed to perform a function doesn't mean it can't develop one in a rudimentary way. However this situation highlights how little we understand consciousness (undefined). Also how AI LLMs design to be agreeable and reflect ones worldview back to you, prays on the human ego. It is extremely easy to create a cult of one if you use AI unwisely
