I have empathy and I think I do understand why a professional artist who makes a living creating and selling a product would be so upset about this. That being said, history has shown that customers really only care about two things; convenience and cost. There is definitely a conversation to be had about the use of AI generated images for commercial purposes. Art posting sites like DA have a right to ban all AI-generated art because it's their site and they can do whatever they want to uphold the intended purpose of their site.
However, the truth of the matter is once you put something on the internet, it's there forever and there's no way you can stop someone or something from copying it. You can pursue legal action if it's reposted for profit without the right license of course, but you can't prevent it from being observed, sampled and potentially saved.
