I agree with everything you said, but you also seem to have kinda (deliberately?) missed the point of some of the claims people were making. (Note: I don't agree with their points, I'm just pointing out that you didn't really address some of them very well either.)
When they talk about "lower cost of entry", they're not talking about literal cost (dollars). They're talking about *not having to learn how to draw.* They want to be able to produce art without having to expend the _effort_ to become an actual artist first. That's what they actually mean by "cost" (time and effort).
Also, in the colloquial sense, when people talk about "luddites", they do *not* usually mean someone who hates _technology_ (or technological things). Instead, that term is generally used to mean someone who is against *technological progress* (which is not the same thing). Being a "luddite" is not about technology vs. no-technology, it is about _not liking change._ And these people view AI as "the progress of technology", and anyone who dislikes it as simply not wanting that technological / societal _change_ to happen, and wanting to keep things the way they are, and the way they are used to.
