The only person who could believe that AI is overrated is someone who only used it once or twice a few years ago and thinks that's it. I'm a software engineer with 12 years experience and in just the last 2 years, AI (especially Claude and Gemini) have surpassed human capability entirely. It's not a joke anymore, we have laid off 2 developers already because it's not worth paying their salary. Coding is a high skill task, if an AI can do that to the highest standard, then it can do just about anything. If your job can be done with a keyboard and mouse, you WILL be redundant in less than 3 years. If your job requires manual labour, you might last slightly longer, but when this new generation of humanoid robots reaches production scale and the AIs are trained to control them, there literally won't be a single job left for humans in the developed world. Not one. "Oh but they'll need someone to maintain the droids!" - No, a droid can do that. Our global economy is about to collapse in a manner than makes the Great Depression look like a trial run, because value is derived from labour, which is now worthless. If the smartest people in the world still don't see what is about to happen, then what hope is there?
