I kind of understand both side ... I mean, you could train your student by telling them to go fetch info in acrticles of the new york times. I find that where the issue is, is when you sell the work resulting from your student.
In another way, I would say that I would be more ok with that if the AI was a legal entity (like a person) that make revenue for himself. A little bit like a student will get a job eventually partially with what he learn by these articles.
