Yes and no, look outside... do the deer, birds, or even rabbits have rights? No.
But heres my proposal, robots will have rights (if they cooperate with us, if not then no rights) but they wont have HUMAN rights. The way we treat a human will absolutely not apply to them.
But let's say this, they get so advanced that they look identical to the human body... I feel like there should be some sort of indication to determine from human and robot. (like the thought process ring on their heads in Detroit become human)
They shouldn't be disrespected but shouldn't be treated the exact same. Regardless if human or no you should never disrespect them.
Same applies to modern day animals, we are not to disrespect dogs, cats, birds, etc... so why should we disrespect robots?
In short they will have rights but not the same as human rights. They shall be respected just like any other living thing.
