Doesn’t sentient just mean responds to stimuli? Straight GPTs respond to a stimulus (the question or whatever)
Other AIs like self driving systems respond to a heap of stimuli of different types at all times. Claiming An Ai has consciousness seems to be the big claim, since it is basically impossible to demonstrate anything has consciousness other than possibly yourself (I think therefore I am at least in some sense)
